As I said in my last post, I have done a lot of summer shopping. Nordstrom had a huge sale these past few weekends and I took advantage of that. From shopping and going to FIDM, I am always noticing new trends and trying to incorporate them into my wardrobe. I have been obsessed with the knit sweater sleeveless crop top, and I have seen tons of celebrities and students at my school wearing them. I love the look and high neckline, along with how cute they look on. The 90’s is making a comeback and I love it!
Vanessa Hudgens literally makes anything look good.
As many of you may know, I officially started my second year at FIDM! Second year means you get your mini tote bag, this is a BIG deal at FIDM. When you first start FIDM you receive a huge tote bag to carry supplies/carry around, but second year students get a smaller version. I could not wait to get my mini tote and walk around FIDM with it!
I had my first week of classes and along with my first week of homework. The way FIDM works is that classes are 3 hours long, once a week, which means you get 6 hours of homework. So the quarter gets a little crazy, but goes by quickly. For those who do not know the quarter system is used at FIDM, this means students go to school for 10 weeks and then get 2 1/2 weeks off. I honestly love this system!
As a present to myself this quarter, I bought myself a Marc Jacobs watch. I love it and I have been wearing it everyday since I bought it. I liked the gold and silver mix, so I can wear both colors.
This past Sunday I had the opportunity to attend the LA Lakers VS the Memphis Grizzles game. I brought along my friend Hailey from school and we had a fun Sunday night. While walking around LA Live before the game we got to watch the celebrities arrive to the MTV Movie Awards which was being taped right next to the Staples Center. LA Live was crazy crowded but it was fun to watch the madness.
We had amazing seats at the game! The game itself was close, and the Memphis Grizzles won.
I decided to wear a cute black boyfriend blazer, with a grey v neck t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and pointy toed kitten heels. I call it casual fabulous!
My last few days of spring break were spent in San Diego! I have never traveled to this part of California and took a train ride along the coast to get there. My aunt, uncle and two cousins were there while my uncle had a convention/meetings to attend. They invited me to tag alone and hang out with them at their hotel and explore. Of course I said yes! Vacationing with my aunt involves a lot of good eating, drinking and shopping. Which we did!
I arrived in San Diego in the late afternoon, we stayed at the Hilton Bayfront hotel. It was BEAUTIFUL, our room was on the 30th floor, overlooking the bay.
We quickly walked to San Diego’s Little Italy and explored. It was such a fun little town. I am basically 100% Italian so it was nice to finally be around some true Italian culture since moving to LA. We had reservations at this Italian restaurant Bencotto. The restaurant was amazing, they served all homemade pasta and everything was made from scratch. I ordered homemade black squid ink gnocchi with lobster bisque sauce with shrimp.
The second day of my trip we went for breakfast and walked around the Gaslamp Quarter. It is filled with restaurants, shops and art galleries. After we took a 2 hour boat tour. It was so nice to be out on the water and see how beautiful San Diego is.
After we took the boat tour we got ready for dinner. We had reservations at the new restaurant Juniper and Ivy. My aunt and cousin are huge fans of the show top chef and the winner Richard Blais opened this restaurant. We got to talk with the chef, Richard Blais, himself and he even gave us a private tour of this kitchen. The food was amazing and was one of my favorite meals of all time.
The third day we went shopping and laid out by the pool the rest of the day. The pool was crowded but it was nice to finally be laying out in the warm sun.
The fourth day was my last day! It was so much fun to see my family and I had such a fun time. I took a train in the afternoon and back to LA I went.
